South Carolina Bill to Make Swearing a Felony

I wrote about Maine’s retarded goal to make staring at children a felony, well it seems that South Carolina also has at least one nut job who’s goal is to clean up the language in the state.  Bill S. 56, would provide for the following:

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 16-15-370 SO AS TO MAKE IT UNLAWFUL TO COMMUNICATE PROFANITY IN A PUBLIC FORUM OR PLACE OF PUBLIC ACCOMMODATION

If you knowingly wrote, spoke or otherwise displayed any profanity in public, you become a felon, unable to vote, hold public office, own firearms, et cetera.

I think I’m replying in due fashion and in an appropriate tone, when I tell Senator Ford (who sponsored this bill) to go fuck himself.  Even if the State Congress of South Carolina is stupid enough to pass this pea-brained bill, it will be shot down so fast on grounds of the First Amendment of the US Constitution that you’ll barely have time to laugh before it’s in the trash bin.  Or I should say, at least I hope this is the case.

It does, however, show once more that our elected officials are complete scum, who cannot be trusted to have any influence of law over our enalienable rights.
