MySpace Mopsy and Myopic Measures

Friday, March 27th, 2009

The brazen, unbelievable stupidity of the law and law enforcement continues to surprise even me. One of the recent incidents which has my senses reeling, is a case where a currently unidentified fourteen year old New Jersey girl posted pictures of herself, consisting of 30 “indecent” images, on MySpace.

Certainly you can argue that her actions merit some kind of stern punishment by her parents and a harsh conversation on the sheer stupidity of performing such a naive act: but the government’s response is utterly nonsensical! This fourteen year old girl, who was not manipulated to do what she did, was not endangered by anyone but herself, is being charged with various laws against child pornography (presumably for creating and distributing).

Let that fact sink in for a second: She’s been arrested and charged with felony counts of child pornography for posting pictures of herself!

If convicted, she will have to register for the rest of her life as a sex offender! She will have no right to vote, own a firearm, etc., and will have to identify herself on every job application she ever fills out – for the rest of her life – as a felon!

How damnably demented, tyrannical and incomprehensibly brainless are our police and prosecutors? Are they really ignorant of the intent of laws like this, or are they simply throwing their weight around, using the letter of the law to purposely cause harm against people who have really committed no crime?

What good will come out of ruining this girl’s life?

The sick, festering, mentally deficient and morally bankrupt prosecutors pushing for these charges and the mindlessly absolutistic police who are helping them, are complete and utter scum – not worthy to eat the soiled toilet paper this poor girl produces. They have demonstrated no measurable common sense in this and should be debarred, disbarred and fired – and preferably buried in a very deep cesspool somewhere, where they cannot infect the rest of the populace with their malignant cretinism!

I am becoming more and more convinced, that the whole damned planet is going stark, raving mad.

Police Abuse

I’d really like to hear anyone justify this beating.  This is the action of  a thug with a badge in my book.

Pigs

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Plug your ears and cover your eyes, boys and girls. This incident utterly pisses me off and my language is not censored here…

I can’t believe the behavior of the “officer” on this video. He’s dealing with a 14 year old kid. This worthless, shit headed, pig from hell needs to have his badge revoked and criminal charges filed against his miserable, ugly fat ass for assault and battery on a 14 year old child! Rivieri rips the skateboard from the kid’s hands and shoves him to the ground in a head lock – utterly without merit! It is beyond contemptible! Then this fucking asshole proceeds to lecture the kid on everything from his colloquial speech patterns to his upbringing!

As if things couldn’t get worse, he actually threatens the kid with death, if he doesn’t respect “Officer Rivieri”, saying: “First of all, you better learn how to speak. I’m not ‘man’, I’m not ‘dude’! I am officer Rivieri! Now the sooner you learn that, the longer you’re going to live in this world. ‘Cause you go ’round doing this kind of stuff, somebody is going to kill you!”

Really? Is that so? Name one gang or criminal element, name one police officer who is worth his weight in gold, who is going to kill this child for skateboarding and calling a cop, “dude”. Only you, “officer” Rivieri. Only worthless slime like you.

As far as I can tell, this is a death threat and felony charges need to be filed against Rivieri.

Officer Rivieri, you are scum. Total and utter scum. A bullying criminal with a badge and little else. You deserve to serve time behind bars for assaulting a child.

Though it may be against the law to skateboard on this section of walk, a calm talking to is all that is merited in this situation! No amount of skateboarding is warrant for an assault! No amount of skateboarding is warrant for berating a child over his upbringing! No amount of skateboarding earns a death threat!

The escalation of this incident is entirely on officer Rivieri, and if he doesn’t loose his badge over this behavior – well, then Baltimore knows exactly who the real enemy is.

Any officer who defends this kind of behavior is exactly the kind of arrogant Nazi shit we don’t need on the force, anywhere in this nation! Go to hell, because we don’t need you in Baltimore, Chicago, New York, Salt Lake City or Smalltown, USA.

If you haven’t seen this video yet, it is guaranteed to make you irate and generally disgusted. The woman in question in this video was the victim of an assault, who ends up being (as far as I’m concerned) sexually assaulted by the police and then charge with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after they respond to “help” her.

The story and link to the video can be found at WKYC-TV.

The video shows the poor woman having her clothes forcibly stripped from her body against her will. Nor was Hope Steffey ever given medical help for her injuries from the original assault. The sheriff has the gall to say that her clothes were removed from her for her own safety.

Remind me never to call 9-1-1 for help in Stark county Ohio.

Stupid Cop Tricks

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

Government regulations are often stupid. I’m used to that. Government regulations which fly in the face of the laws of nature, simply amaze me.

Case in point, a 70 year old woman in Oren, Utah, (just south of Salt Lake City) was supposedly man handled by police over not watering her lawn. Read the BBC account (the most rational of them) here.

Not only is this a prime example of a stupid law, in this case demanding that you water your lawn in a desert – but it is a prime example of a simple concept of the law that most people seem to forget. All laws are enforced by the barrel of a gun.

Betty Perry claims that the officer hit her in the face with a pair of handcuffs, whereas the officer in question claims that she slipped and fell. I’m sure there are more than a few people out there who have personal experience with the “slipped and fell” clause that cops dish out. It’s amazing how many people slip and fall while under police “protection”.

I have no reason not to believe a 70 year old woman’s story about the incident, but mounds of reason to distrust the police’s version. There have been so many cases of police corruption, abuse and general misbehavior these days to give the cops a free ride, just because they are cops.

She was treated in a local hospital for the cut to her nose and for other bruises before being taken to jail. But she was let go when police realised there were “other ways” of finding out her identity without jailing her, a police spokesman said.

There are ways of finding out who people are without arresting them? No way! How does that work? Does it require a license? Do I need to file such a request through the Department of Redundancy Department, or the Commission for Duplicative Commissions?

Back to the case at hand…

“The officer had judged that Ms Perry’s “sadly neglected and dying landscape” breached an Orem city guideline and was attempting to issue a formal caution when the 70-year-old was injured.”

Let me express again, Utah is a desert. I know this, because I currently live here in Utah, just north of Salt Lake City. Orem is no different from where I am. To make matters worse, we’re in a drought. Every morning on the way down the mountain for my commute to work, I marvel at Antelope Peninsula (used to be an island) sitting out in the Great Salt Marsh (used to be a lake.) Yet, the powers that be have made laws and continue to enforce laws, which are designed to waste water trying to keep Kentucky Bluegrass alive in a bloody desert!

Is it just me, or are there some damn stupid people making up these rules?

Here are some more to titillate readers outside of this Mormon mess:

  • Birds have the right of way on all highways.
  • It is against the law to fish from horseback.
  • A husband is responsible for every criminal act committed by his wife while she is in his presence.
  • It is illegal not to drink milk.
  • It is considered an offense to hunt whales.
  • Alcohol may not be sold during an emergency.
  • It is a felony to persistently tread on the cracks between paving stones on the sidewalk of a state highway.
  • It’s legal for restaurants to serve wine with meals, but only if you ask for the wine list.
  • In Monroe county, daylight must be visible between partners on a dance floor.
  • In Provo, throwing snowballs carries a $50 fine.
  • Finally, in Salt Lake County, no one may walk down the street carrying a paper bag containing a violin.

To be fair, other states have stupid laws as well, but very few have laws so stupid as to demand growing a lawn in the desert. Maybe they should try making smog illegal next, so that the news can stop reporting that we’re having a “hazy” day.

This leads me to one more comment on “official responses” and people’s addiction to them. We have several wildfires raging in Utah right now, which have engulfed dozens of square miles of forest and field. Even the I-15 freeway has been shutdown several times and the smoke from some of these fires is hovering over the Wasatch Front (where Salt Lake City and related communities lie.) My wife caught a blurb about the smoke on the evening news (I still haven’t determined what disease causes her to watch that drivel) which included a call-in from a viewer. The viewer’s response to the fires and smoke, “They need to do something about the air quality over the city.”

???

Hey, moron – hundreds of fire fighters are risking their lives, trying really hard to put out the fires. What do you want here, air filters over the city?
