I just came across this very well written piece in The Weekly Standard on the current Climategate scandal. Seven F. Hayward does a fabulous job of summation on the scandal itself, as well as the current impact on climate science and the looming implications the growing mess creates.
Most definitely worth the time to read.
The Church of Anthropogenic Global Warming is still trying their damnedest to keep the global warming hype running, but Europe especially (where the press coverage isn’t stifled on the subject) and now the US isn’t buying their bullshit anymore.
Congress shot down the cap and trade legislation that Obama so dearly wanted, postponing the bill indefinitely in the Senate and until 2017 in the House.
Further issues being dug up in the Climategate emails have shown the “science” behind the entire global warming industry to be utterly false. In fact, it is fair at this point, with all the evidence at hand, to state that those involved at the core of the movement purposely lied about all of the proposed crisis and that most of the actual data and their models used for climate prediction are completely wrong. Furthermore, there is direct evidence of a corruption of the peer review process, black-balling any study or paper which conflicted with the desired global warming hype.
The most telling of the hard data released so far, is what is referred to as the “Readme Harry” document, which describes the painstaking attempt by a programmer to make sense of nonsensical data. There is so much in this 247 page document that it’s hard to take it all in at one sitting, but many have done just that and broke down the results.

I have long doubted the stupidity regurgitated ad nauseum from the Church of Anthropogenic Global Warming, as I’ve called them – but this finalizes my stance. Those pushing the global warming agenda are religionists, with the same asinine mentality of anyone following a faith. No logic, evidence or examination is allowed in their belief system and so I will discard it like any other superstitious nonsense.
My fear at this point, is that the damage is going to be so overwhelming to the scientific community in general, that it will undermine all branches of science – creating an unhealthy, over-reactive public rejection of science itself. Science as a discipline ends up crucified by the actions of a global warming cult.
As if we didn’t have enough religious stupidity trying to drag us back into the Dark Ages as it was.
On a humorous side note, Micheal Mann, creator of the infamously flawed and utterly debunked “hockey stick” graph, has threatened to sue Minnesotans for Global Warming (M4GW), over a parody video they made, called “Hide the Decline”, aired on Youtube.com. (I won’t post a link here, because it comes and goes. Just search for it on Youtube.)
No Cap and Trade, which came to M4GW’s defense, actually desires the lawsuit to come, because it would force Mann to release his data under full disclosure to the court.
The Anthropogenic Global Warming Church (AGWC) has been hit pretty hard as of late. In short, the old “consensus” is falling apart.
The first major hit is the so-called “Climategate”, where emails from various scientists pushing the global warming agenda were leaked to the public. Hardest hit is Prof. Phil Jones at the University of East Anglia, who had to step down as directory of the Climatic Research Unit after the leaked emails showed that scientists were manipulating data to bolster their claims. He now admits that the data supporting the famous “hockey stick” graph is missing, warming periods have happened before without human influence and even that there has been no warming since 1995. Prof. Jones also refused Freedom of Information requests and now claims to have lost the data.
Shortly after this, the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has been caught up in a row, showing that many of their claims were based on false information from environment groups instead of published academic research. Claims that the Himalayan glaciers are melting by AGW came from unfounded speculation from a popular magazine. Another IPCC claim about the destruction of rain forests by AGW is now recognized by the London Times as, “an unsubstantiated claim by green campaigners who had little scientific expertise”, “authored by two green activists” from the World Wildlife Fund. The IPCC reports of reductions in mountain ice in the Andes, Alps and in Africa were taken from a dissertation by a Swiss student, who was quoting unsubstantiated rumors from mountain climbers. IPCC claims of coral reef destruction by AGW came solely from advocacy articles from Greenpeace, with no peer-reviewed studies to support the claims. The IPCC claim of Africa’s major agricultural loss came from a Canadian think tank, with no study to support it. The IPCC claimed that the Netherlands was endangered, due to its 55 percent of land mass below sea level – when the truth is about 20 percent is below sea level. The IPCC has also been caught up by hard data showing that their claims of increased tropical storms is false.
In the US, scientists from Space Studies in Geophysics and Oceanography now state that Alaskan glacier loss was overestimated by 40 percent for a 40 year period. This data has been used for computer climate models.
Worse yet, Joseph D’Aleo and Anthony Watts, both well established meteorologists, have discovered that starting in 1990, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the U.S. National Climate Data Center purposely eliminated temperature measuring stations in rural, cooler locations – artificially pumping up the results. This is not just a handful of stations either, the count went from 6,000 to less than 1,500. The study also shows that jumps in global temperature from the NOAA coincide with cuts in weather stations used. You can find a whole site devoted to surface stations problems.
Furthermore, the remaining stations used were compromised by local artificial conditions, such as being placed next to air conditioner exhausts, other heat exchangers and even trash burning barrels.
Russian scientists have discovered that readings from the coldest regions of the country had been omitted from the IPCC data. Tree ring data, which indicated cooling since 1961, was truncated as well.
It’s not as if the common bloke couldn’t figure out something is wrong. Europe and North America have been hit this winter with horrible cold and snowy weather. So bad, the record cold weather is killing Florida’s coral reefs.
The American press, as usual, is so far out of step with reality that most of this news hasn’t been covered at all.

As these scandals continue, I’m certain that the last remaining arguments from the AGWC will fall to the wayside and the environmental globalists will find a new boogyman to scare us all into the next scheme for global governance. For if you examine the goals of the environmental movement, no matter what the crisis claimed, the solution is always the same: increased government control and taxation and destruction of capitalism.

It has long been predicted how the Church of Global Warming (CoGW) would be changing their shrill call from "global warming" to "climate change", as the Earth ignores their constantly failing computer models of rampant warming. The amazing, magical trace gas CO2 will now change climates around the world in every direction, to the point that every aberration from the norm will be blamed on man, instead of nature. After all, climates never changed on this planet before man was around.
This article from the BBC News marks another data point, which shows the CoGW (including the lap dog media) for the ignorant fraud they’re pushing. The article is over the recent rash of children dying from respiratory disease, due to the freezing temperatures that Peru is experiencing, three months earlier than normal.
This quote says it all…
"Experts blame climate change for the early arrival of intense cold which began in March."
What I find the most hilarious about this statement, is not just how crazy the claim is from a crowd hell bent on convincing us that we’re all going to boil away. It is the hypocrisy that makes me laugh. Anytime a single event is brought up by those who don’t buy this load of anthropogenic global warming bullshit, the CoGW screams from the rafters that you cannot take a single event, or even a single year’s trend, and claim that this is indicative of climate change of any kind. Yet, here they are, taking a single event and doing exactly that.
Just like a church, alright. I wonder how long it will be, before Gore is given the title of Saint?

A new study by the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen has narrowed down the end of the last ice age to exactly 11,711 years ago.
“Our new, extremely detailed data from the examination of the ice cores shows that in the transition from the ice age to our current warm, interglacial period the climate shift is so sudden that it is as if a button was pressed”, explains ice core researcher Jørgen Peder Steffensen, Centre for Ice and Climate at NBI at the University of Copenhagen.
Must have been human camp fires leading to global warming – or maybe mammoth farts. Of course, human blond hair can be traced back via the MC1R gene to about 11,000 years ago, so there must be a connection. Yep, blonds ended the last ice age and started global warming.

A short article in the International Herald Tribune covers the anger building in developing nations over the UN proposals being bandied about to replace the current Kyoto treaty in 2012. Most of it is old news, but there was one sentence that really grabbed my eye and certain shows the real motivation behind the Church of Global Warming.
Developing countries proposed a 2 percent tax on all transactions of the carbon market, which could become one of the world’s richest commodity markets if the United States creates a national cap-and-trade system as promised by President-elect Barack Obama.
