Anyone still willing to live in Maine after this retarded law passes, deserves what they get.
The story is simple enough: lawmakers decided that staring at children is so bad of a crime, that it must be a felony offense.
You read that right. A felony.
It’s called “visual sexual aggression against children” and it’s going to be against the law in Maine, if lawmakers have their way.
Under the bill, if someone is arrested for viewing children in a public place, it would be a Class D felony if the child is between 12 to 14 years old and a Class C felony if the child is under 12…
I wish I were making this up, but I’m not. Rep. Dawn Hill, (D) was the brain (if you can call an organ which would come up with something this fucking stupid, a “brain”) behind this bill, extended a previous law which made gazing at children in a rest room a crime. When a police officer was unable to arrest a man who appeared to be observing children in a public area, entering a community bathroom, Hill took up the charge to extend the law to all public places and make the crime a felony.
The bill has passed fiscal review in the Maine House and is headed for the Senate.
